Michelle R. Rawn, Esq. – Partner
Michelle was born in Wooster, Ohio. Her family relocated to Floyds Knobs, Indiana in 1984 where she graduated from Floyd Central High School. Michelle graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Purdue University, and then attended the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville, where she graduated with her Juris Doctorate.
Michelle is a member of the Kentucky and Indiana Bar Associations. Michelle is admitted to practice in all courts of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and the States of Indiana and Ohio. She is also admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern District of Indiana.
Michelle is also a member of the Kentucky Real Estate Investors Association, Kentucky Real Estate Exchangors and the Louisville Apartment Association. Michelle is a board member of all three of these organizations and has held many leadership positions.
Michelle who has been practicing for over twenty five years focuses her areas of practice on landlord / tenant issues, real estate closings, evictions, business formation and real estate title issues.

John R. Benz, Esq. – Partner
John is a native of Louisville, Kentucky and has resided here his whole life. He earned his high school diploma from the J. Graham Brown School in downtown Louisville. John then went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Louisville before attending the Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University where he received his Juris Doctor.
John is a member of the American, Indiana, Kentucky, and Louisville Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice in all courts of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the State of Indiana, the United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.
John has been an active member of Scouting America for over forty three years where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout and has received the Silver Beaver Award, among other honors and recognitions.
John who has been practicing for over eighteen years focuses his areas of practice on landlord / tenant issues, evictions, collections, fair housing defense, litigation and probate.

Emma C. Blackmer, Esq. – Associate
Emma is a native of Lake Orion, MI where she was born and raised. She attended Alma College in Alma, MI where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelors of Arts in History. While at Alma College, Emma also played four years of varsity NCAA soccer. She then went to law school at the University of Kansas where she received her Juris Doctorate. After law school Emma relocated to Louisville, KY with her husband Kyle Blackmer, MD and their two cats.
Emma is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association. She is admitted to practice in all courts of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Emma’s areas of practice are landlord / tenant issues, evictions, collections and real estate closings.
